The Independent Research Institute of Mongolia (IRIM) has started to implement a project “Brighter Future for the Children with Disabilities” in collaboration with World Vision Mongolia on 23 June 2016. The main goal of the project is empowering children with disabilities in urban areas to increase their access to ordinary school education for the inclusive education. The project is expected to achieve the following outcomes upon its completion:

Outcome1. Improved national and local standards, mechanisms and capacities for the assessment of the children with disabilities

Outcome 2: Empowered families and educational organizations to access appropriate education services, learning resources, and personal development opportunities for CWD.

The project aims to reach for 500 children with disabilities at the age of 6-16 years old in Chingeltei, Bayanzurkh and Songinokhairkhan districts of Ulaanbaatar, their parents and 9 schools in the areas. The first year project activities will be carried out until 30 September 2016. During the project, IRIM will collaborate with the Ministry of Culture, Education and Science, Central Commission of Health, Education and Social Protection for Children with Disabilities and the Association of Parents of Children with Disabilities, other civic and education organizations and NGOs in the field.
