DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT:     

For staffs and professionals involved in analysing data within their project, “SPSS Training Workshop” is a 2-day workshop that introduces participants how to use SPSS to input and analyse data and how to interpret the results. This workshop focuses on descriptive and some inferential statistical techniques and how these can be used to analyse data relevant to participants’ research needs, including means, median and cross-tabulation. The training was specifically designed for SDC project managers and staff who are involved in analysing data within their projects.

DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICES PROVIDED:     

  • Prior to the training, IRIM assessed the level and needs of participants regarding the training topic;
  • As a result, IRIM developed a tailored training manual for the participating project managers;
  • With an emphasis on active participation, the workshop uses a combination of lectures, didactic exercise, group working and question and answer approaches. Participants were provided with SDC- baseline survey data sets to complete the various analyses tasks during the training;
  • IRIM provided all day training logistics and facilities including computer laboratory for participants, lunch and tea breaks, training materials etc.;
  • The participants were given tests and scored as part of the assessment of their performance;

IRIM developed and provided training reports in Mongolian and English to Client
