The Mongolian Red Cross Society (MRCS) organized COVID-19 nationwide response operation to support the health system and assist vulnerable populations during the crisis. Within the framework of response plan, the MRCS actively collaborated with various governmental organizations, international agencies, and partners to respond to COVID-19 efficiently and in a timely manner and support the GoM’s efforts to combat the pandemic by working as a member of State Emergency Commission and several other inter-agency networks and working groups.

The IRIM has implemented the review of the MRCS Covid-19 response commissioned by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). The main purpose of the review is to assess the progress, results, and achievements of the overall response actions taken by the MRCS regarding COVID-19 within the period of February 2020 to January 2022.

The review team utilized a mixed-method approach inclusive of both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods. The review covered a total of 390 people reached and 80 volunteers who took part in the implementation of the MRCS COVID-19 response activities within the quantitative survey. In addition, 23 key informant interviews with government authorities, institutional representatives, and implementation level staff were conducted, five focus group discussions were organized with people who were reached and not reached by the MRCS COVID-19 response and volunteers, and one case study was implemented along with desk review of key documents.
